Website Accessibility Policy for the Southwest La Plata Library District
I. Purpose. The Southwest La Plata Library District (SWLPLD), in accordance with C.R.S. 24-85-101, is fully committed to providing an accessible website to all members of the public. The Website Accessibility Policy explains SWLPLD’s procedures for creating and maintaining an accessible website.
II. Definitions. C.R.S. 24-85-101: Provides that the Colorado Office of Information Technology has the responsibility to create and enforce website accessibility standards for Colorado.
WCAG 2.1: Web Content Accessibility Guidelines which define how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning and neurological disabilities.
Compliance Officer: Person(s) trained in website accessibility best practices who are responsible for SWLPLD’s website compliance, including updating the website to meet WCAG guidelines.
III. Compliance Procedures. In order to achieve WCAG standards, SWLPLD regularly scans its website to ensure compliance. SWLPLD makes timely changes to resolve any inaccessibility issues. Additionally, our compliance officer(s) work to keep current with changing accessibility guidelines which are the result of the rapid evolution of the digital landscape. SWLPLD’s current compliance report is published on SWLPLD’s website.
IV. Third Party Sites. SWLPLD’s web site contains links to other sites. SWLPLD is not responsible for the accessibility compliance of external websites.
V. SWLPLD Documents. All SWLPLD documents posted to the website on or after 7/1/2024 will be WCAG compliant. If you need assistance with an older document, please contact our accessibility officer by calling (970) 425-5610, ext 1. Requested information will be made accessible on the website within three business days of the request.
