Fort Lewis Mesa Library is located within Fort Lewis Mesa Elementary in Hesperus, Colorado. During school hours we serve students and staff. We serve the public after school hours and during school closures.

The collection at Fort Lewis Mesa Library includes a selection of Children’s, Young Adult, and General Fiction and Non-Fiction books, as well as audio books, games, puzzles, puppets, LEGOs, and STEM materials. Check out one of our many Busy Boxes and/or Explore It kits. We also have a selection of kids and general DVDs.

A public resource computer is available for research and general use, and we offer an AWE Computer with children’s educational games.

CURBSIDE PICKUP AVAILABLE: Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Pick up your materials from the pick-up bin outside the front door. You may also return previously checked out material in the blue drop box.

Wee Read Toddler Story Time. Wednesdays, 2 pm: Sep 4 - May 27. Tuesdays, 10 am: Jun 3 - Aug 12. A love of reading starts early! Parents and caregivers, bring your wee ones, ages 2-4, for stories, songs, and games. We will provide approximately 20 minutes of stories and lots of interactive fun including songs, rhymes, and activities. Then stay and play in the library with your child and their new friends! Table Top Game Society for 6th to 12th graders. Every Friday at 1:00 pm starting June 6th at Fort Lewis Mesa Library. Play Games. Make new friends. Forge new rivalries. Eat snacks. Part of the 2025 Summer Reading Program. Come for the games, leave with books to read and an entry on your bingo card. Each week will have a featured game to try along with games for free play. Bring a friend or game. Or both!
Catch the all! Make friends - or rivals! Pokémon Club Learn how to play! Show off your collection! Trade with others! Movies, activities, and more! Free to participate. Open to ages 7+ (Must be able to read) Every Monday from 1 - 2:30 pm, Starting June 2. Pokémon is a media franchise from Japan that promotes friendship, critical thinking, and sportsmanship through games, movies, and books. The card game strengthens reading, math, and communication skills.
